What Others Are Saying:
"My students really enjoyed the Elizabeti books, but I doubted whether
an author could hold their attention for very long. They were completely
engaged by Ms. Bodeen's presentation and talked about it for days afterwards.
Ms. Bodeen really made an impression on them!"
-- Dawn T., Kindergarten teacher, Oceanside, CA
"There is an inquisitive, independent , unruly student I have who was
expecially moved by your story. During our share time, she brought out
a huge rock and said, 'This is Ava,' she had carried a 10 pound rock to
school in her backpack! What an impressively tender moment. Thank you
for your excellent presentation."
-- Juanita V., Kindergarten teacher, Southern CA
"During our Book Character Parade to celebrate Read Across America, one
of my students came dressed as Elizabeti!"
-- Maureen H., 2nd grade teacher, Southern CA
"Ms. Bodeen is leading a most interesting life which she is passing on
to her readers. She writes about far away experiences that all our children
can relate to."
-- Marcy R., 5th grade teacher, Oceanside, CA
"You have changed the life of my 6 year old daughter Allison. She loves,
loves, loves your book Elizabeti's Doll. She has had me read your book
about 60 times. She just loves the story so much. Thank you for creating
such an amazing story."
-- Wendy, New York
"Stephanie's presentations are very informative and entertaining. She
intertwines an intimate view of another culture with humor and compassion."
-- Betty Johanssen, children's librarian
"I had the privilege of learning about writing for children from Stephanie
in a community education class. What I remember most was the constant
encouragement Stephanie gave to everyone in the class. Stephanie is a
great encourager for beginning writers."
-- David Ellis, university instructor in elementary education
